We fell in love with Rhoda around 2011 and since then she, Albert and Annie have been a beautiful aspect of our lives. These children are about the same age as my children and they consider them their brother and sisters. It is precious. May the Lord continue to bless BCA and the beautiful and important work that is being done for His Kingdom.

When the time finally came for me to meet [Benson & Sarah in 2019] my stomach was lurching in anticipation. An interpreter walked them up to me and introduced me as their sponsor. They both bowed slightly, and one at a time, meekly proclaimed, “thank you, sir.” My sunglasses were unable to hide the fountain of water that streamed down my cheeks, and my voice choked, as I knelt down between them, placed my hands on their shoulders, and quietly prayed, “Heavenly Father, please put food in their bellies, education in their minds, and Jesus in their hearts. Amen.”

This picture is the girl I sponsor, Patricia. …even though she doesn’t speak much English, [upon visiting her in 2018] we were able to build a relationship and have fun with each other. I am glad that my contribution of just $36 a month helps her get an education, clothes, food, and most importantly the opportunity to learn about Jesus.

“Sponsoring a child at BCA means being on mission from home. It means watching a malnourished young child grow into a confident, healthy young man who knows Jesus died for him.”

Being a sponsor for a young five year old boy in Zambia is a new adventure for Rick and I. However, with a name like Elvis Longwani we knew he was the child for us. Being from Memphis, it is only natural to sponsor a child named Elvis! Through his Christian education, I pray he will come to know the Lord early and grow up to serve the Lord for many years. By sponsoring one child, I pray that many lives will be changed. To God be the glory!
